Many professionals say that the PC will sooner or later become the house “brain”, allowing the occupant to keep contact with his home, even from outside, at any moment. There would be an interactive link between the house and the occupant, no one becoming completely “absent” from his home.

• in some cases, the occupant would contact his home by phone to launch several events, such as turning on the electric heaters, or disarming his security console before the arrival of the housekeeper …
• in other cases, the house would send an alert, for example, an SMS, informing that someone has tried to break in. The addressee would immediately watch the action via a network of cameras in the house, from a distant PC, and raise the appropriate actions.
• the home PC would also become an open window on the outside world : for example, it would be possible to load films and MP3 music, to organise video conferences…
