What do you do when you are sharing a flat with 3 friends – all with their own Mini iPods – and you want to listen to each others' playlists?
That was the problem we were trying to solve when we all moved in together last month.
We have a great stereo system, but the music on our individual Mini iPods was just that : individual! At the end of the day, when we all returned home from work, we wanted to listen to music as we were unwinding and preparing dinner. What we needed was a way to transfer our iPod music to the stereo system – so we could all enjoy. This is when we looked to X10 for a solution – and discovered the new Mini iPod Extender!
The kit provided everything we needed and was simple to install. And the best part is that the Extender performs wirelessly ! After plugging the jack of the transmitter into the head-phone jack of the iPod, we connected the audio out jack of the receiver to the auxiliary input on the stereo, flipped up the antennas, and with the AC/DC adapter – just plugged it into the wall socket. And there it was! iPod music playing throughout the flat! And with the LED indicator and rechargeable batteries there is no worry about draining the power.
Using the iPod screen as a remote, we can keep track of the songs we are listening to and start, stop, pause or change songs as we like. Those times when I am home alone, it is a pleasure to take a break from the Mini iPod headset and enjoy my music through the stereo speakers.
The X10 Mini iPod Extender has made sharing a flat even more agreeable, and when the 3 of us are home together, the only difficult part is deciding whose music to listen to!
