QUICKLY READY, QUICKLY GONE

Suppose you live in a house with several rooms on two floors. Very often, the kids forget to switch off the lamps and the heaters, and you always have to control all the rooms to check that all electric appliances are off, when you go to work. Now thanks to X10, all this waste of time is finished, just with a "click" on a wall-mounted remote control, you can control all the electric equipment…

With the Slimline Wall Switch, you are now able to :

  • turn off all the lights together, with one flick of the switch, whatever the lamp is, or the location
  • turn off all the heaters together, both upstairs and downstairs

HOW TO REALISE THIS APPLICATION ?

X10 devices required :

  • Wall mounted switch - SS13Eu - 1 unit:

All its keys allow you to control one appliance saparetly or several together, depending on your choice.
The default "house code" of this remote control is A. To realize Tom’s application, in order to avoid any confusion with the Mini-Timer orders (see our e-mail of 8/11/01), give the unit code 2 to the first button of this wall remote control.

  • A transceiver - TM13E - 1 unit:

This module will convert RF signals sent by the wall remote control into PLC commands. Leave the house code set to A.

  • Appliance module - AM12E - several units:

Insert the plug of all electric appliances with ON/ OFF functions into an appliance module. Set the house and unit code to A2 for all of them. On receiving a PLC OFF command from the transceiver, it will switch OFF all the right electric appliances.

  • Dimmer plug-in module - LM12 - 1 unit :

Repeat this operation for dimmer plug-in modules controling lamps. On receiving a PLC OFF signal from the transceiver, it will switch OFF the lamps.

  • Wall mounted dimmer - LW10 - 2 units:

Replace the original wall switch of the ceiling lights by the wall mounted dimmer. Give it unit code A2. On receiving a PLC OFF signal from the transceiver, it will switch OFF the ceiling lights.

Now just by pressing the first key of the wall remote control, you can switch ON and OFF all the electric appliances which address is A2. You can use the other buttons of the remote control to monitor other groups of appliances (from 1 device to infinity).
